Well, apart from the fact that Notes is what pays the bills in my house (a powerful reason, you might think!) and the fact that I am a Certified Lotus Professional (yippee - I finally found a use for the logo we are allowed to use!) , I do believe that Notes has a lot to offer for developing web applications. Unfortunately its been blitzed by the Microsoft marketing effort - not that I have anything against Microsoft apart from the few notes (no pun intended) I have on the topic stored in the 5 terrabytes DB2 database on my mainframe at home....
Enough with the Microsoft jokes! In truth..probably every software we use today has problems that you can rattle off for hours. The pressures of bringing a product to the market before the competitors, combined with the ever-changing technologies, brings with it the growing acceptance for buggy software as long as it has some enhancements or new features. Its unfortunate in a way, but also the reality, and will probably never change
